Itinerary for Lahalul and Spiti:-
Day 1: Chandigarh arrival and go to Shimla and visit Mall road in evening.
Eatable Places: – Café Shimla times, Ashiana Ridge, Indian Café House,
Day 2: Shimla to Sangla by road distance is 220 km and it will take 6-7 hours to reach. Sangla will have cultivations of apples, pears, walnuts and potatoes. Sangla has the best apple orchid and taste of apple is delicious.
Day 3: Sangla – Chitkul – Kalpa
After breakfast, we move towards Chitkul, Chitkul is one of the most sceinic settlements in the valley and the last inhabited village before the India-china border. A short drive from Sangla to Chitkul will be the most scenic drives you’ll take so many opportunities and awesome photography. Take a walk around the Baspa River. After Chitkul, we move to Kalpa. En-route visit Roghi Cliff Point. Later arrive at Kalpa in the evening.
Day 4: Kalpa – Nako – Tabo
Next morning, we move to Tabo via Nako – it is the last hamlet of Kinnaur, before the gates of Spiti Valley. En-route visit Gue Monastrery – 500 years old mummy of Sangha Tenzin, a Buddhist monk. Arrive at Tabo in the evening.
Day 5: Tabo – Dhankar Monastery – Pin Valley – Kungri – Mudh – Kaza
After breakfast, move towards the beautiful Pin Valley. Visit a national park with animals & birds, some rare plants varieties, a river that gushes when it isn’t frozen and trekking. Visit a 1200 years old Dhankar Monastery. Then we proceed to visit the Kungri Monastery and then the beautiful hamlet of Mudh – the last motorable village of the Pin Valley. It is the home of 12 endangered leopards. Evening drive back to Kaza.
Day 6: Kaza – Langza – Hikkim – Komik – Kaza
We drive to the highest village in Asia, Komik, also called ‘Eye of snow cock’, is at the height of 4513 m. Some of the common animals of the region are the Tibetan wolf, Blue sheep, Red fox, Hare, Snow cock, Himalayan Griffin, Rock pigeon etc. Then we proceed to visit Langza fossil village – Langza village. This village is mainly famous for large quantity of fossils found here. Later drive to Hikkim, here we see the world’s highest post office. In the evening back to Kaza.
Day 7: Kaza – Ki Monastery – Gitte – Kibber – Kaza
Today, we are going to world’s famous Ki Monastery. This Monastery is situated at the height of 13,668 feet was founded by the discipline of famous Atisha. It is the prominent center of learning as well as refuge of Titians. Then we move to Kibber village, located 18 km away from Kaza. It is the base camp to embark on adventure and trek to adjoining mountains of highest altitude. Later we visit Chicham Bridge – highest bridge in Asia. It is about 4500 m above the sea level in the Himalayan Mountains. Stay at Kaza.
Day 8: Kaza – Losar – Kumzum La – Chandratal Lake
Today, we visit Blue water lake, Chandratal Lake – most photogenic place of Spiti Valley. This lake must see in the full moon night. Watch the lake change its crystal clear shades to emerald green by dusk. On the way we pass through Kumzum La. It is about 15,000 feet above from sea level. Kumzum Pass connects the Kullu and Lahaul to the Sptit Valley.
Day 9: Chandratal Lake – Rohtang Pass – Manali
After breakfast, we move towards Manali. We take a short stp at Batal. Then we move to Kaza – Manali highway. Drive through Rohtang Pass and return to Manali.
Day 10: Manali
Today we explore Manali. Ancient temples like Vashiht Kund, Hidimba temple, and Cultural Museum . Enjoy shopping and leisure activities at Manali.
Day 11: Manali – Chandigarh
Early morning we move to Chandigarh. Late evening we arrive to Chandigarh.
